Please join us for JACK BECKSTROM’S CELEBRATION OF LIFE on Saturday, March 17 at 2 p.m. at Whitefish Assembly, 150 Lamb Lane, Whitefish, Montana. If you would like to share a story or how Jack may have influenced your life, please come ready to share a short story at the celebration or if you can’t come, please share on Fb.
Come and celebrate the life and legacy of Jack Beckstrom, dog musher, mentor, teacher, leader, friend, woodsmith, innovator, advocate, encourager, man of God. He was in the shop the night before he left this world doing what he loved to do … creating a new design and building a sled.
He was known in the early days of the Governor’s Cup 500 (now the Race to the Sky) as the mellow musher. I quickly realized that he was one of the most calm men I had ever met (which was sometimes very frustrating when he got my Norwegian up). He came to me in one of my most darkest times and taught me how to trust and laugh again. My heart grieves for him but because of who he was, the worst day of my life (when he passed away) turned into the best day for him and he joins a host of truly great men in heaven. I miss him so much but I am truly grateful to have walked with this man of God even if my steps were baby steps compared to his size 13’s. He has left big shoes to fill and I know he would challenge all of you to be the person that God wants you to be and influence your community by loving on them.
